Wayward Woods is a financial decision-making adventure for ages 6–16. Morrow wakes lost and alone after a storm, with no memory of how she arrived. As she learns to survive and find her way through the Wayward Woods, children practice planning, tradeoffs, protection, patience, and smart risk before real money choices begin. We take privacy seriously and aim to collect only the information needed to run the app safely.

How child play works

  • Child gameplay uses local profiles on the device.
  • Child gameplay does not require a child email address.
  • Parent-facing account and settings controls stay under parent control.
  • Progress is stored on the device. If optional backup or sync is offered, parents remain in control.

Information we may collect

  • Parent or guardian contact information when you join founder beta or contact support.
  • Basic usage data about which lessons and puzzles are played, used to improve the experience.
  • Device and app information for security, diagnostics, and crash reporting.

We do not sell personal information. We do not show targeted ads to children. The launch product is designed without advertising shown to children.

Spam and abuse prevention

Our founder beta and support forms use Google reCAPTCHA to help prevent spam, fraud, and abuse. reCAPTCHA processes information associated with those form interactions for that security purpose.

How we use information

  • To save progress on the device and, when enabled by a parent, support backup or restore.
  • To improve lessons, puzzles, and the overall experience.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
  • To send launch updates or support responses when you contact us.

Children and families

Wayward Woods is designed for ages 6–16. We encourage parents and guardians to review how the product is used and to reach out with any questions. We do not knowingly collect more information than necessary to provide the service, and we do not use child behavioral labels in areas shown to parents.

We keep information only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal or security requirements.
